Adult Ministries

Our program of Adult Education at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection (LCR) is forever changing to meet the needs of the adults in our congregation. One of our goals is to offer an assortment of courses, studies and topics and time slots year round to meet the needs and concerns of our members. We attempt to provide these in a variety of ways. Adult classes are offered during the fall, winter and spring. Learning opportunities are designed to provide people with tools to allow them to incorporate Biblical truths and theological understanding into their daily lives.

  • Sunday morning Adult Forum meets in the Family Room at 9:00 a.m., September through May. This program is designed to promote open discussion and learning on a variety of topics. We also do Bible studies and talk about important issues affecting the Racine community.

  • Our Women's Brown Bag 'N Bible Study meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 11:30 am in the Family Room. Lunch and fellowship begins at 11:30am with study and discussion following from noon to 1pm.

  • The Seniors Bible Study meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 1pm in Fellowship Hall.

  • Women’s Circles take place at various times throughout the month. There are three studies offered throughout the week to hopefully accommodate an individual’s different schedules. Call the church office or check our calendar for more information.

  • Weekday Bible Studies are offered at various times throughout the year. Check the calendar for more information.

  • The Resurrection Book Club meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the Family Room. Each month a new book is read and discussed.

  • Anyone interested in becoming a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection will want to participate in the New Member Class to discover more about what it means to be member of LCR and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).

  • Classes run from Labor Day to Memorial Day

  • The curriculum is based on: Biblical Teachings, Catechism, Worship, Prayer Life and Christian Service. This serves as a foundation for a life-long commitment to Jesus Christ.

  • Service projects & class projects give students the opportunity to put their knowledge and faith to active use.

  • Students participate in a one-week immersion experience each summer.

  • The mentor program pairs each student with an active adult member of the congregation to facilitate a well-rounded understanding of active life within the congregation.

  • A Pastoral Interview and retreat take place when classes are completed.

  • The Rite of Confirmation takes place in the fall of the 10th grade year, on Reformation Sunday.

  • Confirmands track their faith journeys in portfolios as a means of taking ownership of their Spiritual growth.
